How to connect a VJ laptop to DJ booth or main audio output?

Hi,

I’m still new to vj-in, so was just wondering how does a vj connect his laptop to the dj mixer or main audio output?

I mean in what ways does he connect or synchronize with the what the the dj is playing?

    You need a second soundcard that connects to USB port.
    Either two outputs; 1 for mixer and one for the headphones to cue up next track.
    You can also use a single output soundcard and use the output from that soundcard to the mixer and plug your headphones into the headphone Jack on your laptop.
