How do you mix hip hop songs as a DJ?

Trance/techno seem so easy to mix in with each other. I tried hip hop today and it seemed so difficult, since the songs start right away and you have no time to do much of anything. Do hip hop djs download the instrumentals of their songs and then mix in the real song with the instrumental? That’s the only solution I can think of.

Most DJ’s take Acapella’s and sometimes remake beats for them or take the Acapella and put it over a beat already made example: 2Pac - Get Money (Freestyle Acapella over I Get Money beat by 50 Cent)
And some use programs like FL Studio, Sony Vegas. etc Evan.
