I’m really thinking about becoming a DJ when i get older, for a club or something. I was wondering if i’d have to go to some kind of school to learn something or anything. And if i do, do you have any idea of any schools around east texas for that?

    Of course not.

You don’t need school, just practice. In a club you need to mix and this takes practice. Buy 2 turntables or good DJ CD players and a good mixer and start beat mixing. Practice makes perfect.

no, you don’t have to go to school but there is the Scratch DJ Academy you can go to to learn about djing (http://www.scratch.com/)

to learn about being a club dj, the best way is to learn from djs in clubs around your area. if you’re 18 or older you can ‘job shadow’ club djs and learn from them.

once you do that, you can get good enough to at least open up on a club night. meaning, they’ll stick you in the dj booth for the beginning while everyone’s coming in, then at prime time the regular club dj for that night plays the rest of the night.
